PERFECT LITTLE CORNERS

We moved into our home at the tail end of Summer 2016. While it's nowhere near done (we bought a fixer upper), I have taken the time to make certain little spots in our house more welcoming and cozy. Even though, they are small little spaces, they bring a smile to my face because they are a small reflection of what we would like to do to the entire house over time.

Here is part of our entryway. The little bench stores our everyday shoes in its little drawers while quietly resting under a bright window that views our backyard.

Next to it, our leaning bookcase. It houses some home decor and some of our DVD collection. I did not want them to be completely exposed, so they are placed inside of this woven basked for easy reach and to make it all seem more cohesive. It's not only beautiful, it's also functional.

In one of the kitchen corners, I placed our sister orchids. They were a gift from my mother-in-law a couple years ago for Mother's Day. They originally came together in one pot, but I ended up separating them. They are thriving!

This window in the kitchen is the one that has the most extreme temperature and brightness changes during the year, so my orchids love it! It's the perfect spot for them because those two changes are what trigger blooming every year in the late Winter & early Spring.

Pssst! A little secret: The orchids on the bigger plant are fake. I got them at Hobby Lobby for 50% off. They look just the real thing!

To give this boring and dark corner some pizzazz, I made sure to add all my accessories in white, so they always stand out and lighted up th emood in the space. Whi says that kitchens can't be pretty?

Our coffee bar is still a work in progress, but still wanted to make it look cute while we figure out what to do with our kitchen. I added a small flower bouquet from Dollar Tree, a cute metal green tea container to hold all our teas and a footed glass candy dish to store our Splenda packets. Doesn't it look adorable?

What are your favorite little nooks at home that make you smile?
