OUR 'BEFORE' HOME TOUR

I have been meaning to share this post for a long time but, the reality is, as much as we are excited to be first-time homeowners, it has been a serious adjustment. We hope you enjoy this 'before' tour of our home.

Before buying our first home, we always lived in tiny apartments - I'm talking less than 925 sq. ft. Although we were prepared to be homeowners, we had no idea! It was overwhelming and daunting to see ourselves living in a space almost twice as big. Plus, getting over the sticker shock wasn't easy. We were clueless as to where to begin, what rooms to paint first, what furniture to purchase, etc. But after a year and a half of being here and making some really needed changes, we can again start seeing the house with loving eyes again and discover all its potential.
Don't get it twisted -- the house is nowhere near close to being finished; however, with some serious elbow grease, the house is starting to shine again. For now, just remember that the images I am sharing in this post are of that first week when we moved in. In other words, it's a complete disaster! As things progress, we will show you in more detail all our completed projects.
Here goes...

The fireplace is double sided. You can see it from the living room as well as our dining area and kitchen.

SIMON'S BEDROOM

This image is what Simon's bedroom looked like when we first saw the house. The walls were painted a bright terracotta. We decided this would be the first bedroom to paint so the boys could have a space of their own very quickly.

This is what the bedroom looked like after painting it. We used Behr Premium Plus Ultra Interior Semi-Gloss Enamel in Ozone #UL220-7, which is a medium powder blue with grey undertone.

MASTER BEDROOM

Since we were still painting Simon's bedroom at this point, we had the boys mattresses in our bedroom. We didn't want them smelling the paint fumes, so they slept in our bedroom for about a week while we got them settled.

Next time we post pictures around here, I promise the house will look a lot better than this ☺ We hope you enjoyed our 'before' tour.
